Jay Posey is a professional typist.
More specifically, he’s an author, narrative designer (a fancy term in the video game making world), erstwhile screenwriter and general Doer of Words. He finds words like erstwhile to be delightful and is pleased to have been able to use it.
He’s the author of the Legends of the Duskwalker trilogy (Three , Morningside Fall, and Dawnbreaker), and the military science-fiction Outriders series (with Outriders and Sungrazer), all published by Angry Robot Books. His short story “Invincible” appeared in Apex Publishing’s WAR STORIES anthology.
He’s also an Expert Narrative Designer at Ubisoft/Red Storm Entertainment, where he has spent over a decade contributing as a writer and game designer to Tom Clancy’s award-winning Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six franchises, and to several Top Secret Projects he’s not allowed to talk about. The most recent one of those Top Secret Projects that escaped into the virtual world was the virtual-reality game Star Trek: Bridge Crew.
He also also occasionally writes sentences that are dangerously close to run-ons. He started in the video game industry in 1998 which, unfortunately, was not before it was cool.
A contributing author to the book Professional Techniques for Video Game Writing, Jay has lectured at conferences, colleges, and universities, on topics ranging from basic creative writing skills to advanced material specific to the video game industry.
He has been described as “fascinating”, “insightful”, “highly entertaining”, “extremely handsome”, and “one of the most dynamic speakers in the Posey household” by parties who may or may not have been biased or himself.
